Commenting on a new study showing unexpected differences between GM and non-GM maize, GM Freeze Director Liz O’Neill said:

This study shows that the impact of changing an organism’s genome in the lab goes way beyond intended effects. Genetics is a very young science with more questions than answers, and genetic engineering is not the ‘cut and paste’ process we are often led to believe. The idea that one can ‘tweak’ a living organism’s DNA without consequence is, at best, arrogant. When that attitude is applied to the food that millions eat each day, it becomes downright dangerous.”
