Tell Tesco that every little GM doesn’t help
When Tesco says ‘Every little helps’ you might expect this to extend to its responsible sourcing policy. Tesco says its relationship with suppliers helps it ensure its products are of great quality and are also sustainable.
However, since 2013, Tesco has quietly stopped sourcing GM-free animal feed for the animals that make its eggs, meat and dairy. Send Tesco a quick comment to say you don’t think using GM crops for animal feed is sustainable.
Use Tesco’s online form to submit a quick comment asking them to Feed me the Truth.
- Let them know that you don’t want to buy anything that has involved GM crops and this includes GM animal feed.
- Ask if they will give you the choice to refuse GM-fed products by selling more meat, eggs and dairy products from a GM-free supply chain and letting their customers know which products these are by putting it on the label.
- Please forward any response you get to info[at]gmfreeze.org.
